The chamber gallery

This room was originally one of the White Tower’s most important chambers and would have been used by the king when he was in residence. It boasts “all mod cons” for the time with a fireplace and en-suite toilet.

Today the displays showcase the iconic image of the White Tower.

Highlights

• The Tower of London dinner service catered for all occasions – including a tureen for soup of the day.
• Sir William Maynard Gomm had the image of the White Tower and crossed keys engraved on his sword when he was Constable of the Tower from 1872–5
• Buttons featuring the White Tower.
