Admission tickets are free and can be booked in advance. We ask you to choose an arrival time but once you are on-site, you may stay for as long as you wish.
You can still visit if you haven’t pre-booked as we accept walk-ins. We are busy during the school holidays and are usually quieter after 2pm.
Fort Nelson is a national museum and free to enter. Please book a free ticket for every member of your party.
£3 per car. Please pay for parking on arrival at the reception desk.
Parking is free for Blue Badge holders. We have four spaces closer to the museum entrance, available on a first-come-first-served basis.
We know that plans can change, so if you need to cancel your visit please see the Order Summary section on your email confirmation from Eventbrite.
You can cancel your booking by clicking on View and manage your order online.
If you wish to change the date or arrival time of your visit please cancel your existing tickets (see above) and then re-book for the date and time you require.
If you need assistance to cancel your booking please email fnenquiries@armouries.org.uk giving the date of your visit and session time plus the name of the person who booked.
Please note that we are unable to refund car park charges.

Assistance dogs are welcome at Fort Nelson, including in the museum galleries, visitor centre, cafe and outdoor areas. Pet animals are not permitted.
There are toilets in the Visitor Centre, in the Voice of the Guns gallery and in the galleries.
There are changing facilities within the toilets in the Visitor Centre.
Our cafe in the Visitor Centre is always open for visitors, offering a delicious range of drinks, snacks and light meals including jacket potatoes and paninis.
Card payments are preferred but we do accept cash.
Yes we have lots of picnic tables for you to use.
Barbecues are not permitted.
