This May half term (28 May – 2 June) the Royal Armouries in Leeds will be packed with royal-themed fun activities for all ages to enjoy.
Following the museum’s “At the Court of Elizabeth I” Bank Holiday event and Elizabethan horse shows (25 – 27 May); the week will be filled with live combat displays, early years storytelling, dramatic performances, crafts and a chance to get hands on with some of the remarkable objects in the Royal Armouries collection.
The Royal Armouries cares for one of the most unique and remarkable collections of arms and armour associated with monarchs in the world, from the tournament armours of a young King Henry VIII, Emperor Maximillian I and the sporting garniture of Elizabeth Petrovna, Empress of Russia.
Visitors are invited to come and explore the museum with the Royal Puzzle Trail and discover fascinating objects with royal history, including magnificent armours, intricately decorated swords and embellished firearms. Participants of the trail will be entered into a draw with a prize fit for a king or queen for the winner!
Entry to the Royal Armouries is free; however some activities may have a small charge. Open 10 am – 5 pm daily.
