Join us for another FREE big bang weekend!
Get ready for two days full of noise, flames and smoke as the Garrison Artillery Volunteers (GAV) fire a range of artillery from the World Wars, including anti-tank guns, field artillery and anti-aircraft guns.
Firings will take place at 11:00 and 14:00.
This is a free event. Please pre-book an arrival time and feel free to stay and make a day of it.
There will be talks about the guns plus the history of Fort Nelson and its role in the Second World War. Uniformed members of GAV will be on hand to talk about the guns they are firing, and the drills employed. Plus there’ll be static displays and object-handling opportunities. There’ll even be some have-a-go activities and a museum trail for our younger visitors.
Car parking is £3 and can be paid for on arrival.
